GLOBE - Global learning and observation for the benefit of the enviroment

Dubovac primary school has been included in this programme since 2004.

In Croatia 110 primary and secondary schools have participated.

Dubovac primary school is the coordination centre for the inter-county council of GLOBE for Karlovac County, part of Primorje-Gorski Kotar and part of Zagreb County.

Leaders: Snjezana Markovic-Zoraja prof. and Jasna Višnić prof.

Globe measurements: atmospheric, hydrological, biometrics, soil.

Students perform daily measurements (atmospheric) and weekly (hydrology, soil) and seasonal (biometrics).       

 All metered data is sent to the server via the GLOBE database in the United States. The main sponsor of the programme is NASA (USA).

Results so far:

Participation in interregional festivals: 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011.

Participation in national festivals and competitions:

2005 diplomas and awards for highly successful project.

2006 diplomas and awards for highly successful project. Second place in state competition.

2007 diplomas and awards for highly successful project.

2008 diplomas and awards for highly successful project. 1st place in state competition.

2009 diplomas and awards for highly successful project.

2011 diplomas and awards for highly successful project. 4th place in state competition.

2012 State competition and festival GLOBE.

2013 State competition and festival GLOBE.

The GLOBE 2014 inter-county festival was held in the elementary school of LJ.Babić, Jastrebarsko.

The pupils of Dubovac won first place among elementary schools and second place in the same order with high schools.
